Join us on an exciting road trip from Hyderabad to Gandikota, an adventure that promises to be full of stunning landscapes, historic sites, and delightful experiences. We began our journey bright and early at 5 am, hitting the road to make the most of the day ahead.
Our first stop was at Udipi Upahar, where we enjoyed a refreshing cup of filter coffee before heading onto the ORR, to avoid city traffic and get on the highway smoothly.
By 9:30 am, it was time for breakfast. We stopped at this Food Court named Food Pyramid, a popular spot on the highway known for its delicious food and welcoming ambiance. After fueling up, we were back on the road and heading towards our first major destination.
At noon, we reached the magnificent Belum Caves. These caves are the second longest in India and offer a fascinating underground journey. We spent an hour exploring the intricate formations and winding passages.
Hungry from our cave exploration, we headed to a nearby place named Ayera’s Restaurant by 2 pm. The local flavors of biryani were just what we needed to recharge before continuing our adventure.
By 3:30 pm, we arrived at Gandikota. After checking into our homestay, we took some time to freshen up before heading out to explore the historic Gandikota Fort at 5 pm.
Gandikota Canyon, often referred to as the ‘Grand Canyon of India,’ offers breathtaking views and a glimpse into the region’s rich history.
Returning to our homestay by 7 pm, we relaxed in the property, soaking in the serene atmosphere. An hour later, we enjoyed a homemade dinner by a cozy bonfire, the perfect end to an adventurous day. By 10 pm, we were off to bed, eager to wake up early for the next day’s adventures.
By 6:30 am, we drove to the campsite to catch a beautiful glimpse of the sunrise, before heading back to the Fort area. The view of the Penna river from the fort is simply spectacular. We explored the fort’s historic buildings, and hiked to find the best vantage points of the Gandikota canyon.
By 10:30 am, we were back on the road, aiming to reach Hyderabad by 6 pm.
